I sometimes wonder how we all can write about the damage that cancer does to us so easily...then realize that we are only seeing the black and white words on the screen and not all the blood, sweat and tears that goes into the fight! Keep fighting...

I'm now on tamoxifen after having difficult side effects with Femara and Arimidex. I was wondering if anyone else had an issue with scar tissue build up in the lumpectomy area? I also had mammosite radiation so that might also have caused some of the scarring. I'm a little nervous as I now have my yearly mammogram and the oncologist wants it to be a diagnostic one with ulstrasound if necessary to see if the "lumpiness" is another cancer issue. Guess it's the new normal to feel nervous at test time?

I had to let everyone know how wonderful my niece,Nicole and her children are...I sent her a recent photo of me with my crew cut length post chemo hair with my I-phone.About 10 minutes later I received 2 photos back of her 2 boys Jack, 5 and Andrew 3 with crew cuts and big smiles...she said they wanted to look like Aunt Jeanne!!! Gotta love 'em.

I'm taking Arimidex and now am experiencing some stomach issues. I have a heartburn type sensation all the time. My oncologist has tried Prilosec and now Protonix but not to a good result. Anyone else have this side effect? I guess I'm feeling like I don't want to have a new problem...:( !

Thank you, any information would be helpful. I just started taking Vit D again as I realized I am probably very deficient and that can't hurt. I also started taking Tylenol along with my prescribed pain med at the advice of my palliative care doctor and will see her next week.
I still exercise daily, but it's not great and I hurt alot.
    Thanks for your feedback.

I'll call her tomorrow and let you know as soon as I find out. Unfortunately, her husband just found out he has leukemia so she has had a burden. He has been told that he is in the early stages and should let it ride...hard to hear I'm sure!

I've decided to start walking so that I can get back on my exercise routine. When I do walk I know I feel better so the endorphins must be flowing!!

Hi Iluvmykids..did anyone tell you about a special ointment that can help with the skin burning? I didn't need it because I had internal radiation, but my friend said it was a big help with her skin. I can get the name if you don't know about it.

The radiation techs told me to use Aquagel and Eucerin. I got some of the Aquagel and it is a lot like vaseline, but supposed to be better. I have started using it even though I don't notice any change in my skin at all. Some of the information I have said if I do this, I may not have any skin problems at all. Here's hoping. If your friend knows a better one to use, let me know, I am all for preventing any skin issues. Thanks!
