I spoke with the social worker here at Seton Hospital in Austin, Tx, she was very concerned about my situation and is gonna try or more than likely get me into a treatment facility that my ins. will cover. I also found out that i have stage two non-small cell lung cancer. They took out the drain hoses from surgery today and the epidural, and if that wasn't bad enough they removed my urinal drain. I hurt pretty bad and being a wimp it's gonna be tough sleeping tonight. But thank God i'm still alive. Things look like they may work out. I have read many stories posted here and you guys are the bravest group of people i have ever come across. God bless you all and thanks for the advice and your concern.

I am so sorry to learn about your circumstances -- please, contact social services in your area and let them know immediately about your diagnosis and the threat of eviction. I feel certain that they will be able to help you with rent or finding some type of subsidized housing. Also, make sure you contact the social worker in the hospital where you were/are being treated and let them know your circumstances. Finally, there is some help available from the American Cancer Society -- contact your local office and explain the situation. Don't wait until your landlord makes good on the eviction notice -- build a network of helpers. Please try to take good care of yourself -- nutrition, rest, exercise -- and get back on here whenever you can to let us all know how you are. Best wishes and prayers.
