I saw your post about getting your Dad to eat, but I couldn't figure out how to reply. ;( I'm new on this site so please forgive me. I know how your Dad feels. My problem isn't that I can't eat, I just don't have an appetite. I have to force myself to eat. Of course my wife sees that I do. ;)

How is your Dad doing? We are praying for him and your family!

Welcome. Thank you for taking the time to register. I know we have several people on the network with liver cancer experience so when you are ready please do not hesitate to reach out to them. They are here for the same reasons you are.

If you need anything (e.g., emotional support, help finding support/care resources, insights as to what to expect), please be sure to ask the network for help. I saw in your update that you are looking for some suggestions to help your dad. If you post a Question, you will probably get some helpful feedback. You can do this by clicking on the "Ask Network" link on your logged in home page or the "Questions" link at the top of this page. When you post needs/questions using our question feature, we route your question to everyone in the network who might be able to help. Also, know you can use the "Update" feature on the site to keep anyone who might be following you on WhatNext up to date.

I look forward to reading about your progress.

My dad was recently diagnosed with small cell carsinoma in the liver. Doctors at first believed the cancer was coming from the lungs or colon. Xrays were done and both tests indicated no cancer in the lungs, colon or stomach. The doctors kept referring to my dad as a Atypical patient because the cancer started in the liver. He just started chemo last week and now I'm having a hard time making him eat because he has a hard time keeping food down. Because the tumor is large (10cm), its is affecting his digestive tract and he has heartburn, indigestion and nausea. I dont know how to ensure that he eats enough everyday. Any suggestions?

I would try and get him mashed potatoes and boost or ensures. That's about how my dad is with the wafting. My dad has heptocellular carsinoma. That is what my dad has been wafting for a few weeks now. Just make sure he has some boost or ensure this way he gets some of the nutrition he needs to fight anything he may catch. Keep me posted please!
