Actress Bonnie Franklin, star of “One Day at a Time” 70’s television show, died at 69 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. In September of last year Franklin shared that she had been diagnosed in August of 2012. She died surrounded by her family; a private memorial service will be held in her honor.
“One Day at a Time”, Franklin’s claim to fame, ran from 1974-1985. Franklin earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her role in this comedy sitcom. The show was a success and discussed serious issues with a primary audience of divorced mothers and their children. Franklin was a positive asset on and off the set.
