    Lumpectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

I also had sentinal nodes taken out. They were all negative and all the cancer was gone after surgery. I had gotten an infection for 2 weeks. Took antibiotics which made me feel worse. Then got .on better ones for me. Took longer than I thought to get better.

    chemo recommended

    Oh No

After being told they got all the cancer and none in the lymph nodes, I was told to strongly get chemo. It was a shock since I was being told for over a month I would most likely have surgery and radiation. I don't know if I want to go thru chemo I dont know if it would really make a big difference . Anyone can have cancer and not know it. Is the pain and stress of chemo worth it?

deciding to get chemo or just get radiation

    Decision Point

I am wating to hear from my gasterenterologist to find out the affects of chemo with crohns patients. And if it will make me take steps back with my crohns treatment. He will be talking with the oncologist to give me better info and feedback towards my decision.

    External radiation

    Radiation

Well,I finally have an answer from Drs. I decided to get only radiation and not chemo. I would definately have to stop remicade treatments because of the risk of infections. I decided the pain I will have from not getting my remicade is worse than taking an extra 10% chance of my cancer coming back. Very hard decision to make. Plus all this time waiting ......So I have my 1st appointment with the radiation oncologist on the 21st.

    Fatigue (tiredness)

    Side Effects

Completed 9 treatments. Feeling a little tired but dont know if this is just my regular tiredness I get because I have crohns. Plus its getting old wasting 1&1/2 hours each morning after work each morning before I get my radiation. Its because I dont want to drive back into town and that saves me 50 minutes of driving. But the best thing is getting so much support from people I dont even know, who are at the same place doing the same thing as me. Just goes to show there are alot of good people in the world.
