Oh No
Just found out I have Tongue cancer related to the HPV virus. Beginning the journey to develop a plan. I have decided on a facility and doctor. Radiation is currently all that is recommended. Going to have the mask made tomorrow to wear during radiation. Treatment starts in a week.
External radiation
Radiation
Started my first radiation session yesterday. 36 more to go.
External radiation
Radiation
End of treatment. Neck was fairly sore and painful and used lots of medicated lotion. Lost appetite and about 15 lbs within a couple of weeks. Taste buds gone for now.
Remission
Celebration
It has been 4 years since my discovery of Tongue Cancer. Taste buds mostly came back. Sweets are not as sweet as they used to be.
