    Fatigue (tiredness)

    Side Effects

I am doing better at this time. I try to eat on a regular time schedule which seems to help. I also attend group every week and that helps keep depression at a minimal level. If all else fails, I take a nap.

    Cancer has spread/Metastasized

    Oh No

I went to the hospital thinking I had a stroke, head ache, pain in my neck and back, and loss of control of left arm. Good news, no stroke, bad news ordered to see my cancer doctor the next day. I have a lot of confidence in him. So the next leg of the journey has begun. This week, CT and PET scan. Next week, bone marrow test, port and then we will be ready for R-CHOP.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Well it is early in the game. Yesterday was the first R-CHOP treatment. I have not experienced any negative effects yet, however I know it is too soon to expect the impact. I am emotionally up for the challenge, as I am a looking forward to completing my bucket list. I have the support of many wonderful family and friends. I will report when Things are not so comfortable as well, that's when my support team will kick in. I am in it to win it.

    Milestones

Well, I don't know if this is the norm, but day 6 after Chop chemo, I can report virtually no adverse symptoms up to this point. Next round in 2 weeks so spirits remain high. My medical team advised Claritin-D and Ibuprofen to offset expected bone pain. I was shocked to discover it allowed me to be free of back and neck pain that has been a big issue since a car accident in 1989. I know not everyone can take those drugs, however it has been an added bonus for me.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I just finished my second round of R-CHOP today. I will have 6 rounds 3 weeks apart, that is if all goes according to plan. I reported to the doctors every week to check my blood. On the second week, my white cell count hit the bottom as well as a few other numbers. I have felt far worse many times in my life. I was then put on house arrest, with lots of instructions about not allowing small children or anyone who has been around any sick people. It could be worse, I found lots to do to keep busy and had lots of support. I did get thrush and Magic mouthwash cleared that up in a day. The next visit, I was released from my shut down. My cell count was better than expected, yippee. The best thing to come out of all this is I am now in much less discomfort physically as the larger tumors causing the most problems have disappeared. My hair started falling out rapidly on day 20. No problem, I had my head shaved and problem solved. Today they gave me a drug 10X stronger to keep the cell count up. My doctor is wonderful and the staff is too. They answer all my questions and keep my confidence level high.

    Cancer is shrinking

    Celebration

I am at the halfway point in my Chemo treatment. I have had minimal side effects and the tumors that were the most troublesome are gone. I am scheduled for a scan next week to see where I am at and hopefully decrease the amount of chemo.

I have finished the Rituxin, blood work is good, and says I can go on vacation. Next scan in April. Wahoo, now if only I had the money for a real vacation, lol. However, I know I am blessed.
