    Diagnosed

    Oh No

Got a colonoscopy and was told terrifying news it was a tumor. Biopsy showed it is cancerous.

    External radiation

    Radiation

I begin radiation on Monday. Dr. and therapists are all great which is making it alot easier to deal with. A huge relief that I can still play with and hold my kids. When I heard radiation, I thought I may not be able to be around them. Thank God that is not the case. They and my wife are my strength and inspirstion.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Got my chemo port in Friday. Still a little sore, but not as bad as I thought it would be. I also start chemo on Monday. I think this part scares me the most right now, maybe just the unknown of the side effects. Just gotta stay strong and take it one day at a time.

    Radiation

The pre-surgery radiation was painless, quick treatment times, and only had a little rash for a while.

    Removal of rectal tumor

    Procedure or Surgery

Had surgery on 5-14-2013. Rectal tumor removed, ileostomy put in, and while the doc was in, removed appendix. Dr. said they got all of the tumor, 6/24 lymph nodes cancerous, will definately need chemo later. The chemo is what scares me.
