What method of treatment should I have for this very early stage diagnosis

    Decision Point

really decided by researching the net and making a determination that based on my family history I should be aggressive.

    Double Mastectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

On 2/15 I had a bilateral mastectomy with diep flap reconstruction at the same time. It has been two weeks since my surgery and I am starting to feel better. There is a lot of pain in the breasts and the donor site but it gets better each day. My drains were removed 10 days after the surgery which has improved my recovery. They were very annoying but obviously necessary. I have been fortunate to have a great support system of family and friends. Especially, my husband and mother.

    Went as Expected: Agree
