    Diagnosed

    Oh No

In 2004 I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. After 6 months of Chemo, I was cancer free and have been for almost 8 years, when....I am diagnosed with a new cancer. This time it is Squamous Cell Carcinoma, Anal Cancer. Not only do I have cancer again, but I hate the word Anal??!!

    Implant chemotherapy port

    Procedure or Surgery

I had a port when I had Hodgkins, there were no problems with that port. I was up and moving the same afternoon and very little pain. Because of a previous port, they tried the same side, but with the scar tissue had to go to the other side. So a hole in the veins on each side of the neck. Because they had to go in both sides, I was given double the medicine, so I was sick the rest of the day. The sickness combined with the pain made for a long day.
