    Bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

Surgery went as I had expected. I was in the hospital 5 days. The gas pains were intense, but walking definitely helps. A heating pad is a godsend.

    Went as Expected: Strongly Disagree
    Minimal Recovery: Agree
    Minimal Side Effects: Agree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Neutral/NA

    Diagnosed

    Oh No

Initially I was told that the tumor was borderline malignant and that the initial pathology (during surgery) showed nothing to be alarmed about. BUT, on January 7th, after the more extensive pathology was done, I was told that they found a tumor in my fallopian tube and that I have stage IIA fallopian tube cancer. And, that the fallopian tube cancer was what had spread to my ovary. Oh no!

traditional chemo or a phase I clinical trial

    Decision Point

Still deciding what to do! The more I hear and research, the more I lean towards the clinical trial. I meet with my oncologist on Tuesday, 1/29, and will learn more about the clinical trial.
