    Diagnosed

    Oh No

I have been diagnosed with cervical cancer adenocarcenoma in situ. I am in shock, scared and anxious. I have an appt with gyn/oncologist on Thursday and trying to get my thoughts straight to make sure to ask all the right questions.

    Remission

    Celebration

Went to see the oncologist today to get the path results from my radical hysterectomy. He said my lymph nodes were negative for cancer and they were able to get all the cancer out which was 1.6 cm. no just need to do my several follow-ups for the next several years. Woohoo!!!!

    Robotic assisted laparoscopic radical hysterectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

Much better than abdominal surgery but it is still major surgery. I am sore, tired, and swollen.

    Went as Expected: Agree
    Minimal Recovery: Disagree
    Minimal Side Effects: Disagree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Disagree

    Surgery

    Oh No

I went to my first oncologist visit and got both good and bad news. The good (or should I say great) news is that my cancer is curable the bad news is that I have to have a radical hysterectomy and since I am still young and no children, this has hit me very hard that I will not be able to have children or experience pregnancy.
