    Side Effects

Allergic to either metformin or erlotinib - developed very bad rashes on arms and legs - so I need to be taken off the clinical trial.

    prednisone, induced mania

    Side Effects

Prednisone was making me feel high. I had lots and lots of physical energy. I saw my pharma doctor and hematologist. They consulted and changed reduced the dosage of prednisone for 80 to 40, increased seroquel for 25Mg 1/day to 50 mg 2/day. Also dropped Lexapro. After 3 days I am feeling much more like myself. As a persuasion I am need a walking partner and should not be left alone for more then an hour. Friday (8/2) was the worst. Things started getting better on Sat and today (8/5) I feel 95% like me. I am also very very sleepy due to the increased dose of seroquel. On the plus side I am getting a solid 8-9 hours a night.

Platelet count dropped from 105 to 98 to 77

    Oh No

The meds I was taking to help treat shingles and the predsisone related mania caused my platelet counts to drop, after an initial rise from 90 105. Pharma Doc took me off of seroquel - which has a rare side effect of causing platelet issues. As does the Anti Viral I was taking to treat my shingles. *sigh*

    Platet count is raising again

    Celebration

My last CBC showed by Platelet count is back up to 98. I will be seeing my hematologist on 8/28 to figure out how we can get them back up into the mid 100s. Carbo and Gamzar really did a number on my bone marrow. Thank God my red and and white counts are normal.

Stopping seroquel has really effected my sleeping.

    Oh No

One of the pluses of seroquel, besides controlling my the Predensione Mania was I was getting a good night's sleep. Now that I have been off it for about a week, I am not sleep as well. The Pharma Dr increased my xanax to fro 50 to 100 Mg at night, but I am still waking up way too early and not able to fall back to sleep. At least the 5 hours I get are good but I need more. I am so tired of being tired and cranky.

    Bronchoscopy

    Procedure or Surgery

I had this procedure to biopsy the new node on my lung. The sedation really made me woozy and knocked me for a loop. This morning, the day after, I'm still tired, and I'm coughing up a minor amount greenish/yellow spittle. I will be taking it easy today as well.
