    Cancer is back/Recurred

    Oh No

I originally had Stage 3B Hodgkin's Disease at age 28, when I was pregnant. After 13 years in remission, I was dioagnosed with Stage 1 Colon Cancer in December 2010. This is the whole story. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/8245829/hodgkins_disease_colon_cancer_what.html

    Surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

I had 8 inches of my colon removed. The recovery was harder than I expected. I was in a lot of pain for some time, especially when walking.

    Decision Point

My surgeon thought that I needed chemo, but my oncologist disagreed. It was a very tough decision for me, but in the end I went with my oncologist. He has been my doctor for 14 years, so I feel like he has a vested interest in me!

    Loss

Six months aftre my diagnosis, my sweet daddy was diagnosed with bladder cancer. He already sufferred from Parkinson's Disease, and the cancer was too much for him. We lost him a few months later in September 2011. This has been such a hard year.
