    Seizures

    Side Effects

I have had 2 seizures following my brain surgery and have been having new, crippling headaches that are scary to me (the most severe symptom I had prior to diagnosis was headaches). Is this normal?

    External radiation

    Radiation

I received external radiation to my brain. It was painless, but the mask and having my head pinned down for 7-10 minutes was disconcerting. The side effects were severe, including hair loss and a burnt scalp. I was also extremely tired most of the time. This had a huge impact on my daily life, as I could not summon the energy to do more than lay in bed or on the couch. My husband was resentful and it led to the crumbling of our marriage.

    Painless Experience: Strongly Agree
    Minimal Side Effects: Strongly Disagree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Strongly Disagree

    Hair is back

    Celebration

My once long, shiny, dark hair is finally starting to grow back! It will be a while before it is long again, but I am overjoyed not to need wigs any more!

    Relationship

    Loss

This month its pretty much final - I've lost my husband and he has given our kids to his parents as a result of my brain cancer. I hate it, but it's a chance for a fresh start.
