This was my original MRI finding "mucinous neoplasm" that led to appendectomy. Because mucinous adenocarcinoma of the appendix, with more cancer cells in fatty tissue surrounding appendix.

I had a bijeminy or abnormal heart beat during appendix surgery. The day after my diagnosis I had another new doctor... a cardiologist. So had a heart cath that found a blockage. My oncologist also ordered a colonscopy to double check that no cancer was there. Then we did a partial iliectomy taking out about a foot of the colon including the internal "sphincter". The surgery itself went well. We did not use an NG tube following surgery as the thought of it freaked me out!! Unfortunately a nurse did not pay attention to my IV's & both of my arms became infilitrated. Both were dopplered & found to have no blood clots. A pic line was inserted, although it took over 24 hours to get it put in, so my recovery was delayed by no antiobiotics or fluids! And although we didn't know at the time, I also had dyspepsia, that is still ongoing. After coming home my recovery went very well.
