Maintenance chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
I had a lobectomy done Nov. 4th of this year. They removed 45% of my upper lobe and a wedge from my middle lobe. The pathology showed that one of my lymph nodes came back with cancer. They gave me the option to do chemo, believing it was a good decision, in case some of it went elsewhere in my body. It is scary for sure. I was surprised I didn't feel ill after, although this is my 1st day and went Christmas shopping after. I had visions of vomiting and being so nauseous and I have been fortunate so far. They say the fatigue will hit by tomorrow and I'll feel pretty miserable. BUT who knows..One day at a time...I hope to talk with any or all of you God bless
Brain scan came back clean!!
Celebration
Before my 1st chemo treatment today, I had to have a brain scan to make sure the cancer hadn't traveled there..Thank God it didn't!!!
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
I agreed that it was easy to do, because the actual IV treatment it was no big deal for me..1st day..horrendous headache, that night, somehow I ate 1/2 bottle of Tums..heartburn intense(suggestion, don't go out to eat after chemo and eat anything SPICY)..day 3-11 the nausea was bad, but finally found reglan, after trying 3 others..I lost 15 lbs, I had a hard time eating and drinking...I don't know how some of you can go to work..I was so sick..found out the nausea was so bad because I was dehydrated..got IV hydrated and I felt 100% better in 24 hours!!
Bone fracture or break
Side Effects
Nausea of course..fatigue..sore in mouth..one runny nostril with a little blood when I blew my nose..itchy blisters on my chest..hair thinning fast..If anyone has a mood disorder or anxiety/depression, for me it really elevated my depression..cried almost everyday..BUT I'M ALIVE!!!!
Lobectomy
Procedure or Surgery
Afterthe surgery to remove the cancer I ended up bleeding..so back to surgery I went...My recovery was tuff because I broke 3 ribs shortly after surgery..my side effects were and are a struggle..especially because I have depression/anxiety and PTSD...
