    lumpectomy or masectomy

    Decision Point

    Lumpectomy showed microscopic cells in sentinel nodes decision for more node removal or masectomy I declined both. On to chemo and my life was changed forever.

    Before surgery was only suppose to need radiation no chemo but all changed when cancer cells found in nodes

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

    I had a bad reaction on the four differenct chemo's and one biological agent hospitalized twice. Surgery to remove gall bladder in middle of chemo which caused one month delay. Had to stop a wk early due to damage to lungs caused by taxotere.

    Chemo brain

    Side Effects

    Chemo Brain is permanent and severe can no longer work, damage to lungs from severe reaction to Taxol, Damage to heart from Herceptin but fortunately cleared up after a yr, severe neuropathy in both feet also perm. But on the bright side still alive and enjoying life.

    Daily trips to hosp were inconvenient but doable. Rads caused severe fatique which is still a problem, but not sure from Rads or Chemo Damage
