Misdiagnosed
Oh No
My husband had a persistent pain (back and abdomen) for several months. Doctors said that it was caused by colonic diverticula and lost a lot of time before the pancreatic cancer diagnosis. His treatment could have started before stage IV.
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
Folfirinox every 14 days
Gallbladder stones
Oh No
After 5 days in the hospital, we had more details. The night before 8th Folfirinox chemo, my husband experienced a sharp pain in the upper abdomen, followed by nausea. Doctors said OK for chemo. Big mistake! After the second product, he started to have purple hands, big chills, trembling, chest pain, high fever. Chemo was stopped. Antibiotics administered during the night. After new scan and lots of tests, doctors told us that he needs surgery as his gallbladder is infected and has stones. They are waiting for the best moment to do it.
Surgery
Procedure or Surgery
Gallbladder removal one month ago. Now ready for the next step: Chemo-radiotherapy for 5 weeks to see if there is a possibility of surgery to remove the tumor.
