    Procedure or Surgery

Hysterecotmy and removal of ovaries and fallopian tubes. Procedure itself went great, it was the biopsy results that went wrong!

    Diagnosed

    Oh No

I had a hysterectomy and removal of my fallopian tubes and ovaries on November 30 due to post menopausal bleeding. My Ob/gyn did the procedure because 2 biopsies showed nothing abnormal. I went for a check up a week later where I was told I had endometrial cancer that was also in one fallopian tube. Never saw that coming!

    CT Scan Pelvis and Abdomen

    Other Care

Showed no swelling of lymph nodes and, per the Oncology nurse, unremarkable except for kidney stones.

    Other Care

Post op visit today. 21 lymph nodes were removed and one had a cancel cell the size of a peppercorn. That one little thing made the difference between having chemo or not. The plan is 3 rounds of chemo, 6 weeks radiation, then 3 more rounds of chemo. I would have preferred to have zero lymph nodes with cancer but the news could have been so much worse.
