Lumpectomy
Procedure or Surgery
Procedure went well, came home after a couple of days with a drain for a couple of weeks.
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
I had 6 aggressive chemos and 4 less aggressive. Missed a total of 1/2 day of work. I'd schedule my chemo @ 8:30, it would take 2 1/2 - 3 hrs., and I would go straight to work from there.
External radiation
Radiation
Had 38 radiation treatments, Monday through Friday, from May - August.
Hair loss (alopecia)
Side Effects
Hand foot syndrome, low white blood cell counts, lymphedema
Finished treatment
Celebration
Took my last chemo in May and last radiation in August. Hair started to grow back late November. My Mom kept asking me if I was going to shave my head again, and I couldn't make her understand it was just once.
