    Shock

    Oh No

Breast cancer does not even run in my family. This diagnosis was a complete shock.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I was lucky that my chemotherapist understood my desire to complete the course of treatment and work in order to maintain as much as normal lifestyle as possible. Chemo was once every 2 weeks for 8 treatments. Great group of professionals lead by Dr. Maria Valente, Cancer Specialists of North Florida, in Jacksonville, FL.

    Nausea/Vomiting

    Side Effects

Fortunately for me, I only had some nausea. Strange to have to force myself to find something to eat. Carbs were not a problem!

    Lumpectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

Had my lumpectomy this week and am feeling better already. Dr. Paul Chappano, North Florida Surgeons, Jacksonville, FL did an amazing job removing what needed to be removed and leaving the rest. I feel like I can begin my recovery now with as clean a slate as possible.
