    Surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

3/27/13: We went in for a gastric tumor ressection believing it to be benign and even the surgeon was shocked. He came out to deliver the news to me and to inform me that it was cancerous and my husband's entire stomach would have to be removed besides 23 lymph nodes, omentum, and gall bladder.

Diagnosed with Stage II Stomach Cancer

    Oh No

3/27/13: Cancer was 5.5 cm through the muscle walls of the stomach and spread to 2 lymph nodes. Thankfully it wasn't more than that.

    2 Moles removed on back

    Procedure or Surgery

5/21/13: Dermatologist didn't really think he needed any removed but felt he would do it to make the oncologist happy. The dermatologist office called on Friday but we were at the cancer center and they left a message for us to call back but of course they were closed when we returned and since it is a holiday weekend they won't be open until Tuesday.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

5/23/13: Day 1, steroids, LCV for 2 hours, and then hook to pump for 5FU for day and night. 5/24/13: Day 2, same routine. 5/25/13: Day 3 return to have pump removed. Day 4 he felt full of chemicals, Day 5 and 6 he couldn't eat or drink, very fatigued. Day 7 through 13 he felt minutely better each day. Day 14 and 15 same as day 1 and 2. This time he felt fatigued the day the pump came off (16) and although he did continue to eat and drink this time it wasn't much. He passed out one time and had to get fluids the next day since he was dehydrated. BP was 74/47 and pulse 110. Fluids fixed him up.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

With the radiation for this cycle he is doing 5FU through a pump for 120 hours. We go in on Mondays to have the pump attached and then on Saturdays to have it removed. His main complaint is constant fatigue but also his intestines hurt now every time he eats. This was stopped on 7/5 due to collarbone pain.
