Laparoscopic Total Hysterectomy, BSO with Lymph Node Dissection on 3/25/13
Chemotherapy

Chemo Regimen : Carbo & Taxol every 3 weeks X 6 Cyles Cycle # 1 : Develop severe shooting burning back pain with Chest tightness during my first taxol infusion 15 mins after rate increase.
Low white blood cell counts (neutropenia)
Side Effects
ANC is only 400 on Day 14 but went right back up to 2000 on Day 18. Thank Goodness
Hair loss (alopecia)
Side Effects
Hair loss started on Day 14. Decided to Shave it All off. And my 12 y/o son volunteered to shave my head for me. Quite an Experience! So proud of him!
Pain
Side Effects
The joint/muscle pains were worse on day 2-3 after chemo but started subsiding after day 5 as my Oncologist assured me.
Nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy)
Side Effects
Shooting And Burning Pain came on Day 2 with muscle pains but Leg weakness,trouble walking worse on day 4, with occ. Feet/hands tingling and numbness that started fading by day 6-7
External radiation

30 days or so of External Radiation is not a walk in the park after your body has been through Chemotherapy...BUT you can do it !
Internal radiation

Brachytherapy was not fun but I made it! You can do it too!

After 6 Cycles of Carbo & Taxol, Maintenance Avastin every 3 Weeks ( until disease progression ) is the only easy part of my whole journey!
