    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I had a Mediport placed, and that helped tremendously. I felt okay most Chemo Days….they gave me such GREAT steroids that I left the infusion center feeling pretty peppy. The next day, however, all I did was sleep. The nausea was minimal, as long as I took the anti-nausea meds (whether I felt queasy or not).

    Internal radiation (Brachytherapy)

    Radiation

I had 5 internals, and they were less than pleasant. I couldn't seem to get on top of the pain….it was the low point of treatment for me. I'd come home exhausted, and in pain, and dread having to go back, but I kept going.

    Robotic assisted laparoscopic radical hysterectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

After an iffy Pap smear in October of 2013, my Dr suggested a hysterectomy (scans were clean, and a LEEP was preformed with negative pathology, but my GynOnc still suggested a hysterectomy), and it was preformed in November. I wasn't prepared for the possibility of bladder complications (due to the radiation), and I landed back in the hospital for 5 days with a nasty infection.
