    Oh No

Last September I noticed a lump in my lower neck, right side. My shoulders and neck had been tight for sometime, so I had been getting massages. But then I noticed the lump, massaging my own neck after working on the computer. Went to the doctor, had CT, MRI, it was seen as a "mass". My doctors then got me in surgery asap, as they believed (as did I) it was growing very fast and malignant. I was scared! Had surgery to remove the mass in mid November. It was 10 cm large, on my brachial plexus, neck and upper chest. Surgeons removed as much as they could. The surgery was very intense and complicated. 7 &1/2 hours in surgery! Tumor sent to pathology. Found out it was a Desmoid tumor, a low grade sarcoma. Am now waiting to begin radiation and drug therapy in January.
