Implant chemotherapy port
Procedure or Surgery
I was urged by the Radiology nurse to have the implant placed while under "twilight". This was a huge mistake!!! I could feel everything that they were doing and it was extremely painful. My body tensed up due to the extreme pain and because they had my neck turned to one side and strapped down from the forehead while they performed the implant, this caused me to have a severe muscle spasm in my neck and shoulder bade in my back. All this on the first day that I started chemo was a mistake. My first round of chemo was absolutely horrible. Please have your port implanted before starting chemo.
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
1st round of Chemo was horrible!!! Let me explain that his chemo cocktail required 24 hour infusion for 6 days and could only be administered while staying in the hospital.
