    BRAC1 Positive

    Oh No

I'm 28, a vegan, a runner, half marathoner, dancer...and I happen to have tested positive for BRAC1 gene.

    Lumpectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

Lumpectomy of a benign fibroadenoma which led to the discovery of the actual tumor below it.

    Surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

Biopsies of different areas of the cancer mass since it is not a lump but more of an "explosion" to quote my surgical oncologist, with borders that are difficult to define. He said it's due to the BRAC1 gene.

    Chemo or Natural Therapies?

    Decision Point

Was going to ask for time to try and heal myself with natural therapies and diet change, until the second the surgical oncologist used the word aggressive during my visit after the biopsies. I decided to move forward with the chemotherapy and other adjuvant therapies. I will still complement them with natural therapies...can't hurt!
