    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Our first chemo dose went exactly better than expected. My husband didn't have any nausea or other ill side effects. People have said that he will most likely have a 'crash' and I'm still expecting it to come any day now, but so far so good. He gets tired more quickly but he hasn't been down and out so far. I suppose as the treatments go on there may be a cumulative effect. We've begun having a few cancer remarks (jokes) which bring on laughter. Laughter beats tears anyday! The second round of chemo hit him harder once he finished the 5 days of prednisone. He was down for about 4 days before he started feeling better day by day. He also developed some chest heaviness and back pain that the dr. said was normal with R-CHOP which got better with time. We had the 3rd round of chemo on July 11th. This one has been hard to get through. It's 12 days after the treatment and he's a little discouraged that it's taking so long for him to feel better. Instead of being thankful that he's halfway done he's dreading that he has 3 to go. I feel so bad for him and it's hard to remain optimistic and encouraging.

    Fatigue (tiredness)

    Side Effects

My husband has had all the usual side effects from chemo - weight loss, cough, chest heaviness, food doesn't taste good, headaches and extreme fatigue.
