Genetics. My Grandfather had Anal & Colorectal Cancer from being a 'DownWinder'
Oh No
My Grandfather lived 3 years from diagnosis to death. It took me 3 years from the time of my diagnosis to make it to the SURVIVOR'S LIST!
To treat it with surgery or not... Chemo and radiation or not...
Decision Point
Early stage, fast moving cancer. Every biopsy, every month, more cancer, more surgery.
Surgery
Procedure or Surgery
I was given a 90% chance of CURE by submitting to chemo w/port in chest and a lot of radiation. It was worth it!
Chemotherapy and radiation combined
Drug or Chemo Therapy
Chemo is tuff but it worked! I was told I would loose my hair but I did not!
Radiation and chemotherapy together
Radiation
Radiation like I had is painless at the time. However your skin in the area that is radiated is like a sunburn that does not go away. Radiation is easier than Chemo by far.
Finished treatment
Celebration
I recovered from my treatment and I celebrated making it to the survivor's list and I have been there for the last 3 years!
anal resection
Procedure or Surgery
I had the BEST surgeon. If you want a second opinion go see Dr. Elizabeth McConnell @ McConnell Colorectal Clinic in Phoenix, Az[phone number redacted]. Thanks to her, the quality of life I have is substantially better. She did in 1 surgery, what it was going to take 2 other doctors to do, with much less recovery to me as well. I will always be grateful to Dr. McConnell
Colonoscopy
Celebration
I had to celebrate! A great report from my last colonoscopy. Savor every triumph and celebrate it!!
