    Chemotherapy and radiation combined

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Although the side effects were few, the going for radiation every day for two months really tired me out. Chemo once a week but it was 4 hours long. I had six weeks off and now I am doing chemo every 21 days. This chemo seems to make me a lot more achy and tired than the once a week was.

    External radiation

    Radiation

I have tumors in my back and can not lay flat but for radiation I had to lay on my back, this was very painful. Doing radiation every day was draining.

    Maintenance chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I now do chemo every 21 days instead of weekly, but this time instead of feeling bad for a day or two, A week after chemo I felt horrible, slept for two days, my husband woke me up to make me eat and drink. I did not get nausea but felt like I was going to be sick. Every bone in my body hurt. This lasted for five days and on the sixth day I woke up feeling great and I played catch up on housework and everything else that I let go. Of course now its time to do Chemo again, and I am keeping my fingers crossed that this was a one time occurance. and I will feel fine this time.

Had to stop all forms of treatment cancer has taken over too many areas to quickly to fight anymore. Now treatment is geared toward quality of the life I have left, they have finaly gotten my pain under control and I feel better because of it. Now I take all instructions from the nurses of hospice.

    Symptom Management

They have upped my medications to keep me comfortable but it has left me feeling in a fog and I don't like it. When my nurse came on Friday she said I need to be patient that it may take a couple of days for me to level out on new dosage. I told her I don't like waiting but she explained it has only been two days, I had to laugh I thought it was at least 5 days I told you I was foggy.

    Milestones

I have figured out that I need to make me comfortable and quit worrying about everyone else. I needed to be needed but now I need to ask for help. My journey is coming to an end but the trip is just beginning. I have not been having the best of time lately because I have decided that if I let others help me it makes them feel less helpless so I guess I am still needed
