    Decided on Lobectomy

    Decision Point

Hi all, Went to doctor today. After a media scoposcopy indicates that no lymph nodes are positive for cancer, I plan to have a lobectomy within two weeks. Sure could use some information on how you all have pulled through this type of surgery. They say it is a wooly-booger! But, afterwards, I should be cancer free pretty much. Any comments will be GREATLY appreciated.

    Procedure or Surgery

Hi to all, Well, I am back from my lobectomy and thorocotomy. It has been ROUGH! Worst surgery I have ever had to date. The pain is only subsiding with medication of which I seem unable to get a good grasp of. The doctor has me on 1 5mg. Percaset every 6 hours, but that does not seem to do much good. Other than that I am doing well. Surgery was a success. Now, just have to heal and then go for Chemo. Any suggestions as to what type of pain meds to use for breakthrough pain will be appreciated. Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Have just finished 4 rounds of Cisplatin/Alimta. While I was sick for about a week after each treatment, I feel that I could have been alot sicker. I have managed to keep my weight in check and the nausea was helped "somewhat" w/ Zofran AND Phenegran. Hope to be feeling better and better within the next couple of weeks.
