    Home care

    Other Care

I have had Home Health Care staff seeing me for one year. I have an aide working for me 5 days a week. She makes my life simpler. I have rented a bigger home but upkeep is monumental for me now. She helps to keep my life in order. We just moved and have lot of boxes to go through both in garage and storage locker. Big change in my life moving over here.

    Medication for Neuropathyy

    Symptom Management

Med Gabapentin (Neurotin) is being used for my feet. I know Lyrica is considered the best med for non-narcotic nerve pain in feet. It is very expensive. Has anyone tried this med or anything else for foot nerve pain (Neuropathy)?

    Hernia now erupting

    Oh No

A hernia by my "belly button" is getting bigger and bigger. I had gall bladder surgery in 2011 - pulled very large gall bladder and 5 large stones out of my belly button with some effort pushing my organs all around. Then in 2012 my large cut for my radical hysterectomy also cut through my intestinal wall making it even weaker. I have been wearing an abdomen binder to hold it in. MDs don't want to consider surgery unless it becomes an emergency. I am trying to deal with it. Anyone else had this happen to then after surgery?

Nerve Pain in Feet and Hands (Neuropathy)

    Symptom Management

One of the non narcotic meds used is Neurotin. Also Lamictal. Lyrica is considered the best although expensive. Hopefully, your insurance covers it. I also rub Vicks (for the menthol) and Vasoline on feet. Very warm water soaks help, massaging feet, exercising them, putting Biofreeze, Cryoderm, or Aspercrerme on them. My neuropathy is almost gone in my hands. Feel like my nerve pain in my feet is reversing - may take up to a year or it may never go away. Time will tell. Ask your Oncologist for suggestions as well as your surgeon. Hope all who have this issue continue to get better results with some of these suggestions. Any one that has other suggestions, please share. Tx.

    Cancer is back/Recurred

    Oh No

There appears to be a nodule that is cancerous; not big but still there. Surgeon asked me to consider "Quality of life" vs. "Chemo" for the rest of my life. Cancelled my PET Scan. Surgeon gave me some good oncologists that she has a relationship with. Will make an apptmt; praying for good news and as always a MIRACLE!

Understand that I have a nodule that is considered to be cancerous. I am going to see a new oncologist next week for second opinion.
