Direct-microlaryngoscopy on vocal cord to remove what was believed to be a benign cyst. Turned out to be squamous cell carcinoma.

Oh No
During surgery, a tumor was found on my vocal cord. Most of it was removed and pathology found it to be stage 1 squamous cell carcinoma.
External radiation
Radiation
Currently about half-way through 6 1/2 weeks of radiation treatments.

Side Effects
Internal burns of throat with severe pain, external burns of neck, difficulty swallowing, memory problems, loss of voice, poor sleep, constipation, and chemo-brain
