    Diagnosed

    Oh No

Dad had stroke like symptoms the Wednesday before Labor Day. They took him to the emergency room to treat the stroke. At no time did he lose movement in either side of his body. He could still smile. The CT Scan came back clear. He was sent for an MRI that showed 3 "lesions". Monday, 9/12, the nurse contacted Dad to let him know that the results came back as cancer, glioblastoma. He was scheduled to meet with the chemotherapy oncologist on Wednesday and the Radiologist on Thursday.

    Surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

On Tuesday, 9/6/11, Dad underwent surgery to remove the 3 "lesions". The surgery was scheduled for 4 hours and took less than 2. The surgeon removed all 3 "lesions" and sent them to the lab for diagnosis. The initial frozen assessment said that the tumor did not come any other are of the body. Dad was in ICU overnight then moved to the neoro floor and sent home Thursday afternoon.

    Cancer is back/Recurred

    Oh No

After almost 2 years clear, the doctors found a recurrence of the tumor. Will have a meeting with the surgeon next week. Will not know the pathology.
