    Oh No

After some 18 months of 'No Evidence Detected', mets were found in both lungs. That was in Feb, 2010.

    Decision Point

I was offered 13 weeks chemo, which would take maybe 4 months to recover from, and might add a few weeks to my Life. 7 months of debilitation, right when I was the healthiest I was ever gonna be, just to endure a few weeks at the other end, which promised to be pretty grim anyway. It was a 'no brainer'. Told them to give the treatment to someone who would get more benefit from it !

    Other Care

Went through counselling - tough as XXX, but worth the effort ! - then reconciled myself to a slightly foreshortened Life ! Cancer may well have shortened my Life, but there's no way I'm handing what's left of it over, on a plate ! At age 58, I've been around the block a few times - until I got dizzy, to be honest ! - and I feel sorry for the kids out there. Toddlers and teens is pretty tough, but also the under 40s, with hopes and aspirations, and young families.
