    Diagnosed

    Oh No

Had meningitis in late September. That is how they found the mass on my brain. They thought it was an abcess from the meningitis and would be gone. Another MRI showed that it had not shrunk so they referred me to a neurosurgeon. He explained to me that it was in fact a tumor about the size of two golf balls, a grade 2 most likely.

    Surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

I had a bilateral frontal craniotomy on Nov. 30, 2011. Everything went very well. No problems afterwards, getting to go home 2 days after the surgery.

    Nausea/Vomiting

    Side Effects

Started PCV treatment. Lomustine ( oral) every six weeks. Vincristine (IV) every three weeks. Procarbazine ( on ten days, going to be off 20 days due to platelets dropping too low). Procarbazine made me very sick taking all four pills at once. Doctor had me space them out and doing much better.

    Transfusion

    Procedure or Surgery

Blood counts tanked, had transfusion. Platelets came up slightly but red count is still very low. Go back Thursday for more labwork and possible 2nd transfusion. Was placed on steroids, but thankfully after a month get to go off of of those! Not a fan of the steroids! No chemo at this time.
