    Cancer has spread/Metastasized

    Oh No

I didn't know I had cancer, and I didn't realize how serious it was. My care doctor's nurse practitioner misdiagnosed me. I was so shocked that I had stage 4 cancer. I have lost all confidence in my primary care doctor and her staff.

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I feel like I have the flu, and it's hard to eat. I have to do Jevity diet while on Chemo. I can't keep regular food down.

    Symptom Management

I was having terrible pain all evening. I thought my pain was gas pain, but I think it might have been my liver. I had to take strong medication. I hated to do that, but I was told not to let the pain get so bad.

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I will be starting another round of Chemo today. I shouldn't be feeling nervous about it. I'm hope that I'm not feeling very sick this week.

    Celebration

I'm finally gain some weight. It's only two pounds, and I'm very happy. I met a very nice lady who is no longer a stage 4 cancer patient. She gives credit to The Lord, and I was surprise that she is 75. I'm so happy that I met her. She is inspiration to me and am glad to meet someone like her in person.

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

So far I'm doing ok on chemo. My husband said we will see how I do after I get done today. It takes me a few days to recover from it. I'm hoping to recover quicker than before, but I know I can't push myself to hard. I do want to get better.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I'm feeling a little better this morning. I had Chemo yesterday, and I spent most of my day asleep. My doctor didn't let me take home the Chemo pack because of my liver enzymes being up. I won't go back for treatment until December. I'm still gaining weight, but it's at a slow pace. I weighed 134.6 pounds. ;) It is not quite so scary to look at myself in the mirror. I need to quit being scared during Chemo. I notice others had rougher treatments than me and made it through just fine.

    Radiation

I just finish 13 treatments on Tuesday. I also had chemo at the same time with radiation treatment. It was very rough for me. I'm still not feeling great.

    Endoscope

    Procedure or Surgery

Gastroenterologist doctors removed blood clot, stopped bleeding in certain parts of the ulcer, and removed polyps in the beginning part of small intestine. I'm on a restricted diet until the ulcer is healed. I'm not allowed to have any fruits or vegetables that are acidy.

    Breakthrough

    Celebration

I was told this past Wednesday I may be cancer free. I can't it's in remission because the scan results weren't clear enough for him to feel ok to say I'm %100 better. I'll still have to get treatments, and he said it was very unusual for someone like me to get better. I'm very thankful, and my prayers is for all us to get well.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

The doctor had me do two round of Chemotherapy pills, and I didn't recover like I should. I went to the doctor today, and he canceled treatments which I was suppose to start today. He ordered another scan sooner than expected, and he will let know in a couple of weeks what he's going to do. I was told that I have another ulcer where the cancer originally was. He didn't say if it was in the stomach or esophagus, and I didn't think to ask because of not feeling good. I didn't know if the chemo pills might have caused the ulcer or the cancer is coming back. I find out in a few weeks what's happening to me.

    Symptoms

I went from feeling nauseous to being very bloated since my doctor's visit on Thursday. Tonight I was terribly bloated after supper. I couldn't enjoy watching TV with my husband. It was very frustrating. Right now I'm feeling better than I was earlier. I took hydro-codone for relief of pain, and I'm aware that it can cause digestive problems.

    Hair loss (alopecia)

    Side Effects

Doctor has me on another type of chemo, and I'm finally experiencing hair loss. I have my hair very short which has been years since I had short hair. Hairdresser thought it was too soon to have my hair shaved off. I'm not showing bald spots yet, and I figured that's why she didn't think I should shave it off. I'm ok with the thought of being bald. I'm having fun looking on the Internet on what I can do with scarves. I learned one on how to tied up a scarf which the Jewish women wear. I need to buy some cotton scarves. I had trouble using a polyester scarf I have. It slided off my head to easy. I seem to do well with the cotton ones. I also have a wig when I'm ready to use it. I got a red hair wig, and I know I have to be careful what colors of clothes I wear :). I like to get another one that's a brunette. I discovered blond makes me look very pale.

    Liver inflamed

    Oh No

I went to the doctor on Monday, and he had good and bad news. The bad news first; He told me that my liver was inflamed and was concerned I might have hepatitis. He also thought the chemo could have caused the inflammation also. I wasn't happy to hear that news because it delayed my treatment for two weeks. The good news is the tumors have shrunk. Strange thing about all this is that I feel good except joint pains which could be a symptom of hepatitis. My appetite is good as well, so hopefully my liver will get back to normal if God be willing.
