    Cancer has spread/Metastasized

    Oh No

Had my regular mamo in Feb 2013. Did not find my lump until after it was pointed out to me after the sonogram. The lump was not there the previous November! My primary did a manual exam. Suggested I get a core biopsy, they took nine tissue samples in two areas(lumps). My path report is date stamped within one hour of the biopsy! I did not get the DX for five days.

If I were 20 years older, would refuse further chemo treatment, could not survive another round

    Decision Point

Would like to be in several types of clinical trials to help in the research arena.

    External radiation

    Radiation

Did not feel one side effect until Week #5, Day 1 & then all strength just seeped out of my legs! My treatments were at 8am, usually did one errand, ate lunch & then could not keep my eyes open! Naptime which was a good 3-4 hours daily. Those naps were vital & I was back asleep by 9pm. I had lots of swelling & pain. while easier than chemo, it is pretty tough on you.

    Minimal Side Effects: Disagree

Very First post treatment mammogram & radiologist finds three small lumps! Feeling very frustrated after 52 weeks of long & painful treatment & something has reappeared so soon! What?

    Oh No

Better to check it out. Back to the hospital for ten biopsy samples. Waiting, waiting, worrying, praying, teary & results all negative.

    External radiation

    Radiation

Texture, color & feel of radiated breast will never be back to the "old" look. Okay, I'm alive & grateful. The boost doses were pretty intense. I seriously felt tissue bubbling.

    Anniversary

    Celebration

To celebrate took my chemo going, driving bestie to lunch. Met up with a mutual girlfriend after 30 years to help celebrate my first year ending the "hard chemo"!
