Lumpectomy
Procedure or Surgery
The lumpectomy was not difficult. My only real side effect was mild lymphedema. Fortunately, I quickly found an excellent therapist who got me on the right road and it's remained under control. I no longer need a sleeve and only I notice the slight difference between my arms.
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
Chemotherapy is not a walk in the park, but it is certainly doable and when your life is endangered, it is well worth it.
External radiation
Radiation
Radiation was very easy after chemotherapy. The burns were not that bad; they looked worse than they were. And recovery was quick.
Finished treatment
Celebration
it was a great feeling to be done with the "heavy duty" treatment.
Aromatase Inhibitor
Other Care
I had no side effects from the "AI". But it did not work.
Misdiagnosed
Oh No
A lesion in my lung was seen less than 10 months after completing breast cancer treatments. It was diagnosed as a benign granuloma. It was later determined to be cancer of an unknown type.

Cancer has spread/Metastasized
Oh No
Tumor noted in lung was not stage I lung cancer but stage IV breast cancer. I was devastated.
