    Depression/Anxiety

    Side Effects

With no clear path in sight, and no real prognosis, and ongoing pain and fatigue, depression has been one of his biggest enemies.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Tried Taxotere. Immediate and major allergic reaction. Blood pressure plummeted, started losing conciousness, pain. Nurse hit him with an epi pen and he was taken to ER. Now taking Taxol and Herceptin. Much easier!

    Anticoagulants for blood clots

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Husband was hospitalized for 2 weeks on IV heparin due to large numbers of blood clots (brought on by chemo). In the last 3 weeks he's gained 30 lbs. from water retention and new meds. He can no longer walk or perform daily care.

    My mind/Sense of Humor

    Loss

Just an update. It's been 2 years since my husband passed away. I'm remarried and starting over. It's still tough a lot of days, and kids have a hard time talking about their dad. I'm happy to help other caregivers who need a shoulder or a hand.
