    Other

    Side Effects

I was told margins were clear, but a week later found out they weren't. So--I had to have another surgery, once I healed enough to go through it. The surgeon did not put in a drain and I developed a massive hematoma, which required me to wear Kotex in my bra between the first and second surgeries! The surgeon put in a drainage tube during the second surgery, which eliminated the problem. I am left with uneven breasts and a big "dent" in the one that had cancer.

    Allergic reaction

    Side Effects

I was allergic to the first chemo drug they gave me. Instead of giving me something else, they had to just drip it in slower, as there wasn't a substitute. I was very tired, achy, etc. I lost all my hair, of course. I puffed up from the steroids and my skin has been very dry ever since treatment. (It was oily before!)

Lots and lots from the Femara

    Side Effects

Femara has weakened my bones (osteopenia), tendons and joints. I have torn both rotator cuffs and a bicep, developed two trigger thumbs and two trigger fingers which required surgical repair, and experience deep aching and pain all over. Extreme vaginal dryness has been even worse than these problems! My poor husband has had to be celibate for the last five years! I've also had thinning hair, extreme hot flashes alternated with freezing spells, dry skin, memory loss and other things I can't remember. HA!
