Lumpectomy
Procedure or Surgery
My mom's surgery was in January and went very, very well. All traces of two tumors removed, no lymph nodes affected.
External radiation
Radiation
My mom began radiation in February along with traditional chemo and Herceptin (she is Her2 positive).
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
My mom's first three days after her first chemo treatment (mid-Feb) were painless. Since then, she's experienced painful constipation, diarrhea and nausea twice, each bout lasting for two days or more. Her doctor has given her a drug that works well for the constipation, but the last bout of nausea and exhaustion was difficult physically and mentally. She has five more treatments to go.
