    Chemo brain

    Side Effects

I could choose so many side effects caused by chemotherapy. I laugh that I'm a Joe Cocker/Edward Scissor Hands clone as a result of chemo. I am choosing chemo brain because I sat here for a couple of minutes before thinking of the Edward Scissor Hands comparison, due to my chemo brain(: I love words, and have been blessed by a natural ability to write. There is such irony in my struggle for words, when I've been the chick people would say, "What is the word for the things flamingo dancers snap between their fingers?" "Castanets, I would answer and the response would be, how do you do that?" I had no idea then, and am certainly perplexed by the lack of finding the words now. My pet peeve when I am struggling so hard to remember someone's name (one of the chemo stealers) someone flippantly says- "Oh honey, that has nothing to do with chemo. I do that all the time!" I wasn't to scream, "NO THE XXX YOU DO NOT! IT IS NOT THE SAME! When was the last time you forgot your best friend's son's name, ESCALATING to the point you have to ask your son, after trying and trying and trying, 'What is Phyllis's son's name. The oldest. Not Vince, the one in the Navy?" The perfect answer for me from someone - "That sucks. It's bad enough for my normal memory loss."
