Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
I was put on a 21 day chemo rejament 2 weeks on 1 off. My first treatment was Oxaliplatin by infusion for 2 hours followed by Xeloda 1225 mg twice a day.My second round didn't go so well tired, sluggish constent diareha even taking teh amodiam, vomiting up my pills even ther smell made me sick, sore red mouth, tingling hands and could not touch anything or dring anything cold. After a few days of this they took me off everyrthing so now i am on a stand still untill i see my doctor the 30th of Sept. Seen my doctor cut my dose down 10% and off xaloda pills and got me on 5-fu for 46 hours on a pump feel alot better
Decision Point
after surgery and all my markers being good showing no signs of cancer is chemo woth going through ? Went back to the onacoligest Sept. 30th after being taken off chemo for a week i was very sick so he lowered my dose 10% of the oxaplatin and took me off exaloda pills and got me on 5-fu which was in shortage but finally out again, i wear a pump home for 46 hours and a infusion nurse come to my home to take it off so so good felling much better :)
Colon surgery (colectomy or hemicolectomy)
Procedure or Surgery
My surgery was June 22, 2011 hospital stay was 3 days went home rested and was up and out in a week. They removed the asending colon which had a tumor in it which was growing outside the lineing they also removed 16 lymph nods in which 7 had inactive cancer cells.
Clinical Trial
I was all set up for a 3 month trial then the drug 5-fu was not being made or a large shotage so that ended that.
