    Diagnosed

    Oh No

I'm 64. Found out Nov 2011 through a yearly mamogram & follow-up ultrasound & biopsy I had a 3cm mass which at that time was grade 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, estrogen & progesterone receptive. HER-2 negative

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I just finished my 2nd round of AC. I get it every other week with 2 treatments yet to go. I get a Neulasta shot 24 hrs after the treatment. After these 4 treatments I will go on Taxol for 12 weeks, then radiation & a pill for 5 years. Finished with AC!! 4 treatments of Taxol with 8 more to go. Taxol is much easier to tolorate then the AC! Taxol done June 21st! Yeah!

    Nausea/Vomiting

    Side Effects

The treatments themselves so far have gone well. 3 days after the first treatment I was in the ER for rapid heartbeat. Everything was ok & we determined my anxiety (which I suffered from most of my life) & steroids were to blame. 10 days after 1st treatment I ran a low grade fever so was put on 2 antibiotics which led to diareah. My pre-chemo blood work was good. 2nd treatment brought on a lot of nausea even 1 week after, where I am now. I didn't take any anti nausea meds after like 4 days last time but am still taking them 8 days after this time! That concerns me!! Found out no need for concern over taking Compazine so take it off & on even through the Taxol which isn't as bad as the AC. Taxol went well.

    Misdiagnosed

    Oh No

They thought they saw something on my annual mamo of left breast. They couldn't pick up anything by ultra sound so ordered an MRI. I couldn't have an MRI due to metal in my body so said come back in 6 months. I said no as that is how my right sided problems started so I said do a mastectomy on left breast.
