    Side Effects

Partial bowl obstruction, horrible fatugue, constipation, chemo induced neuropothy, sorry for my spelling. Fingers and hands. constipation, unable to eat or drink anything cold which leads to low fluid. I had a g tube put in to pump out stomach. I wear gloves around the house. I take laxatives and stool softeners, I still am not on a regular diet yet. I go to hosp for extra fluids.

    My mind/Sense of Humor

    Loss

Yeah I kind of feel like I've lost my sense of humor sometimes. Mine and my husbands lives have been turned upside down. I guess this is our new normal. For now.

    Decision Point

I have gone through 2 out of 12 cycles of chemo now. Just finishing this week. So I have a week to heal before #3. Instead of feeling sorry for myself right now I have decided to fight for another day. In my book "There is no place like hope" we don't have to decide to fight for ever, just for today.

    Other Care

I have spiritual care from my friends and from the chaplan at the hospital. She is wnderful. Her name is Pam Gross. I reach out to all I can. Not during my chemo week so much but after. Well at the Cancer Center I let them know how I am doing and they give me lots of TLC.

    Diagnosed

    Oh No

Told by the Dr that did my colonoscopy. "You are telling me I have colon cancer?" Yes but with surgery and some chemo you should be fine. Just like that! I thought. I could not even look at my husband. We were both in shock.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Chemo, there are no words to describe the physical and emotional effect it has on your body, mind spirit and life. My sister says Chemo is your friend not your foe. I never had a friend I'd let kick me when I was down over and over.
