    Cancer has spread/Metastasized

    Oh No

Two week pathology report came back, the nodes were positive, there was some cancer found. New surgery scheduled to remove all of them for July 2010. In the mean time there was one "tiny" area of my sternum that lit up slightly in the bone scan that they did not think was cancer at my my early stage, but wouldn't leave it alone. I had a biopsy done of it.

Bone biopsy was positive. Off to the medical oncologist I went. The scariest day of my life, but the Dr.was amazing and handled it so well.

    External radiation

    Radiation

In September of 2010, I had radiation to my breast and sternum. Originally the nodes were to be radiated also. I was at the right timing at the end of a 9 year study to not remove/radiate the lymph nodes, so they were left alone. My 7 week radiation went well, the spot on my sternum is gone:)...

    Hot flashes

    Side Effects

I have had minimal side effects. The first couple of Zometa infusions, I had flu like symptoms. Some bone aches from the zometa infusions, but I keep moving with walking and yoga!

    complete hysterectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

There was a mass on my uterus that was showing up in all my scans, it was benign. It was decided to remove my ovaries (so I didn't have to have the monthly injections) and the mass (if possible) Turns out the mass did not "pop" off so the whole thing was removed. This was in December 2010.

    Clear scans

    Celebration

I am now having CT scans every 4 months (instead of 3) along with the zometa infusions. The scans continue to remain NED...Pretty good for a Stage 4 diagnosis:)
