    Diagnosed

    Oh No

Felt pain in the left breast for many years. Dr's kept saying it was fibrocystic disease and it would get better after going thru menapause. Biopsied this very spot where the pain was in 2008, just said it was fibrocystic, no cancer. Mammograms every year. Then this past Dec. 2011 they ordered a biopsy again in the same area. Different dr's. Did 2 biopsies because they didn't like the spot they hit the first time. The first one showed fibro, the second one showed atypical hyperplasia. Ordered a surgical excisional biopsy in the hospital. Found Stage 1 invasive lobular cancer, also found LCS which is a marker that puts me at very high risk.

    Decision Point

The excisional biopsy removed all the cancer with clear margins. Now I have to decide whether I'll just get my lymph nodes checked, preceed with radiation or go for masectomy/reconstruction.
