    Other Care

tumor was removed from outside of colon and a resection was done. Continuous testing was done for 4 years to see if any tumors or cancer came back for. We thought everything was aok until we moved to Wisconsin and he continued to have bowel obstrucions that is when we found out exactly what kind of cancer he had, carcinoid syndrome.

    liver ablation

    Procedure or Surgery

He was receiving monthly sandostatin shots from his oncologist but the tumors kept getting larger so a liver ablation was done. They did it as an outpatient and the pain they he endured was unbeleivable! He had to be admitted so they could prescribe him the proper pain medication which they cannot do in an outpatient setting.

    Colon surgery (colectomy or hemicolectomy)

    Procedure or Surgery

The tumors continued to grow so a trip to MAYO clinic and they advised another colon resection and would try to remove as many tumors as they could. They had his paid under control and treated him with the best care I have ever seen given in a hospital. They should be the role model for ALL hospitals.
